The Rejuvenation Room

Our signature recovery experience. The Rejuvenation Room brings together red and near-infrared light, far infrared sauna heat, guided tendon loading, breathwork and optional cold immersion — a complete, physio-designed reset for body and nervous system.

The Rejuvenation Room

The Rejuvenation Room is the signature experience at Club PhysMed, our recovery centre in Unley, Adelaide. It is the modality David Boyd built Club PhysMed around, and the one our physiotherapists most often recommend. If you are looking for a Rejuvenation Room in Adelaide that does more than offer a single gadget, this is a thoughtfully integrated protocol that brings several evidence-informed recovery tools together into one purposeful session. Ancient knowledge meets modern science, in a room designed to help your body do what it does best: heal, adapt and recover.

What the Rejuvenation Room Is

The Rejuvenation Room combines full-body red and near-infrared light panels (photobiomodulation) with a far infrared sauna, then layers in isometric tendon loading, guided breathwork and optional cold immersion. Rather than treating each of these as a separate appointment, the Rejuvenation Room weaves them into a single, flowing session so the elements can complement one another. The result is a recovery experience built for tendon rehabilitation, athletic recovery, chronic pain recovery and stress recalibration.

There are two Rejuvenation Rooms at Club PhysMed. Room 1 is set up for one person, ideal if you want focused, private recovery time. Room 2 comfortably fits two people, which suits couples, training partners or anyone who prefers to recover alongside someone else.

How the Integrated Protocol Works

Each element of the Rejuvenation Room plays a distinct role, and together they create something greater than the sum of their parts:

  • Red and near-infrared light (photobiomodulation) delivers specific wavelengths of light to the body. Many people use it to support recovery, ease tired joints and muscles, and aid general wellbeing.
  • Far infrared sauna provides deep, gentle heat that warms the body from within. It is commonly used to encourage relaxation, support recovery and help the nervous system downshift.
  • Isometric tendon loading introduces gentle, controlled load to the tendons. This kind of loading is a well-established part of tendon rehabilitation, and doing it within a warm, light-filled environment makes the experience more comfortable.
  • Breathwork helps you slow down, regulate your breathing and shift toward a calmer, more restorative state.
  • Optional cold immersion in the Odin ice bath can be added to finish, introducing a contrast element that many people find invigorating.

Our Physio-Overseen Approach

What makes the Rejuvenation Room distinct is that it is physio-overseen. The protocol is not a fixed, one-size-fits-all routine. Following your initial assessment, our physiotherapists can shape the sequence, the loading and the timing around your body and your goals, whether that is rehabilitating a specific tendon, recovering from a hard training block, or managing a longer-standing pain pattern. This is the meaning behind our promise of ancient knowledge backed by modern science: time-honoured practices like heat, light and breath, applied with clinical judgement.

What People Use It For

People come to the Rejuvenation Room for a range of measured, recovery-focused reasons, including:

  • Supporting tendon rehabilitation through guided isometric loading in a warm environment.
  • Aiding athletic recovery between training sessions and events.
  • Helping with chronic pain recovery as part of a broader, non-pharmaceutical plan.
  • Encouraging stress recalibration and a calmer nervous system through heat and breathwork.
  • Creating a dedicated time and space to genuinely rest and reset.

What a Session Is Like

When you arrive, you settle into your Rejuvenation Room and the far infrared sauna gently warms the space while the red and near-infrared panels bathe your body in light. As your body warms, you move through your guided isometric tendon loading at the intensity that suits your stage of recovery. Breathwork helps you stay relaxed and present throughout. If cold immersion is part of your protocol, you finish with a plunge in the Odin ice bath and a rinse in the Beautiful Water (R) filtered cold shower. Most people leave feeling warm, loose and noticeably calmer.

Who It Is For

The Rejuvenation Room suits athletes managing training load, people working through tendon and soft-tissue rehabilitation, those living with chronic pain who want measured options, and busy professionals craving a true reset. Because the loading and intensity can be tailored, it adapts well to many different starting points.

How It Combines With Other Care

The Rejuvenation Room sits naturally alongside the rest of Club PhysMed. It pairs with contrast therapy for those who enjoy the heat-and-cold cycle, and complements red light therapy and infrared sauna sessions. It also works hand in hand with clinical physiotherapy, post-surgical rehabilitation and acupuncture, so your recovery and your treatment reinforce each other.

Membership and Getting Started

The Rejuvenation Room is available through Club PhysMed membership, including a dedicated Physio and Rejuvenation Room package. An initial assessment is required before joining so your sessions can be tailored safely, and Club PhysMed is closed on public holidays.
